Today.
I had the usual breakfast with Alfons today. He was eating rice and by the time he was finished and carried his plate to the plates corner he sat back down at the table and saw the mess he made.
Alfian: Ek ehh Amy...Siapa makan ni? Na'uzubillah min zalikkkk!! Berkecahhh! -act professor- As we can observe from the food scatter, this is the outline of the plate...
WTH man. Haha.
Then he asked me about my modules and I asked him about his..if he was lost or still on the right track..
Alfian: Spectro I'm so far okay la..can understand..Only the serunding equation aku tak faham sehh!!
Serunding, is some coconut thing which you eat with lontong.
The equation in question here is the Schrödinger Equation.
Haha Alfian, alfian.. But nevermind la..he still has like one of the biggest hearts around and probably one of the sweetest guy friends I have even though he has weird fantasies with the girls in Chem lecs (he wanted to use rubber band to "lastic" some girl who was wearing a bareback) and he thinks he can charm girls by his vast history knowledge.
Because he will sms you late at night after a (late)day out to make sure you're safely home.

(He renamed his name himself ah.)
So sweet right this kind of friend! Gentleman sia this one. Too bad SN tak kenal kau Alfons. Mwahahha.
---
I was at the MS workspace just now after lab at 215pm while waiting for it to be 6pm so I can head over to arts for german. I was feeling SO extremely sleep and it was SO extremely cold in the workspace. So I put on my labcoat and went to sleep.
I was feeling all proud of my new improvisation..
Until this Catholic/Christian society guy on the other side asked his friend "eh is she wearing a labcoat?" while I was half asleep-half distracted by the Hindu Soc people making a ton of noise.
COOL WHAT WEAR LAB COAT!
Haha sometimes i am SO kental. I know.
And today is the day I realise that I really can't stand self centredness. I mean, there IS a limit to it you know!!! NOT EVERYTHING IS ABOUT YOU YOU YOU YOU YOU! ARGH.
---
In German class we were playing a game where we make sentences describing something and the other group has to guess what we're describing.
So Adi's group asked another guy's group.
In English:
1. I am switched on everyday
2. I am loved (to use) by children
3. I am usually accompanied by an animal
like WTH IS IT RIGHT!?!?! I answered Barney and Friends and its wrong.
Anyway. Some guy from the opposing group went "UHhhh.. CALL A FRIEND!!! FRAU VERRY!!"
And our teacher, Frau Verry immediately said "I am NOT your friend!!!"
Haha. Amikk kau obattt. Damn funny la. I love German class actually, just the unearthly hours are taking its toll on me.
Anyway the answer to the question is "A computer." Animal=mouse. I know, right?

Okay the rest of the EURIP PICS!
So anyway this is a little out of the timeline because I blogged the events by theme, you know, the two restaurant dinners together and whatnots.
The hostel "party" actually happened on the 24th of December simply because all the restaurants were closed and we had no where to go to eat. The germans really take their holidays and weekends seriously. All shops are closed means all shops are closed.
So this is the part where I feel rather touched because the Profs really took care of our welfare la..Knowing that we wouldn't have food, they organised this party thing so we had to go out a few days earlier when the shops were still open to get our supplies. And they even gave us allowance! How rocks is that man.
ANYWAY.

Most of us were down early to prepare the food stuff. The groups that were incharge of the pizzas, fish fingers, nuggets etc had to use the MICROWAVE to cook it. (that's why I say "party" because most of the things we bought were instant stuff.haha.) So poor thing right? But nevermind, they did an excellent job!
My group was incharge of drinks so.. Nothing much to do there, but I was helping with the mashed potatoes ok!

Then Prof Lear and wife and bus driver came down and it was nice that they were pleasantly surprised at the spread.

And then he said the table was arranged in such a way that it started off with the healthy stuff, ok stuff, deadly and death stuff. haha.

We spent the rest of the night exchanging gifts and behaving crazily. I've got videos but lazy to edit and upload. Heh.
So anyways, of all the rooms at the Munich hostel, Shah and I were lucky enough to have each other as roomies..we were also the only room in the entire hostel which had a balcony!! That was like our natural fridge. All the drinks and food that were left unfinished after the party went straight to the "fridge".
It was cold and colder at night so all the unfinished coke and sprite and iced tea we just left out there. It was ice cold when we poured it into our mugs. Roxxorssss.

EVERYTHING was in our room.

Oh and the cakes and some cookies you see on the "death" table were from Alois Dallmayr (i'm sure some of you have heard of it), this place which specialises in fine dining. Now its swimming with other supermarket goodies.
Having the food in our room sometimes has its perks too! When we're hungry.. we just go to the fridge. Mwhahaha.
This is Shah.

Or-horrr.
Haha but on the last night Shah went to aggressively distribute ALL the leftovers.
Shah -carrying BAGS of leftover cake and chocolate and cookies-: -knocks on other EURIPmates door/enters forcefully- HELLO! The trip is coming to an end so please keep this food for rememberance!
Everyone tried to run away from Shah but she was SO AGGRESSIVE!
One guy, Jian Yu ran into his room because Shah was chasing after him with the bags of cakes, chocolates and biscuits and before he could close the door, Shah THREW in the whole thing and it landed into someone's suitcase. HAHAHHAHA
We spent like 2389472398743 hrs laughing about it!
Fastforward 3 days and it was time for us to leave. We left our Munich hostel--home for 13 days at 5am for a 6hr drive back to frankfurt! Prof Lear had a flight to catch at 2pm so we had to make sure he didn't miss his flight.
Anyway the hostel was one of the better ones we stayed at. There was wireless too! Toilets were attached and Shah and I were lucky cos our room was huge.

Shah's bed

My bed
Only thing was, the walls aren't very sound proof so our first few days there, the hostel was pretty packed and at 7am some clown decides to blast music. 7AM!!!!!
Needless to say we were all pretty disturbed by it.
If you're wondering why we were sitting OUTSIDE our rooms to use our laptops... my room had no wireless signal. the only way for the laptop to detect it was to sit outside. haha. Loser right.
Anyway.
Of course, once in Frankfurt, we ended up shopping some more. :D:D
Shah, Dazril and I had our last Nordsee meal. Nordsee is something like LJS here..fast food but they sell only seafood stuff.
Dazril: Eh look! Amy minum beer!!

It was apple juice.
OH!!! LET ME SHOW YOU THE FUNNIEST BICYCLE IN THE WORLD!!!!!!!!
What is Dazril pointing at? Hmmm.

Lets take a closer look, shall we?

MWAHAHAHHAHAHA. Vulgar sia. Pity those German kids who ride around in it.
Then it was time to go back to the airport to catch our flight at 11pm.

Sometimes ah I really don't know what to say to this guy. He was leaning back on his trolley.

And this marks the end of my EURIP 2006 trip!
Symposium coming up soon! GAH!

Down sickkkk :(
Before I went to sleep last night, I was already feeling a little weird.I used the SARS thermometer they gave us during my JC days (now I realise how handy the thermometer is) that I keep in a little box on my study table.. BAH!! 37.7 Deg. Okay nevermind, maybe the thermometer is still warming up, after not being used for such a long time.
So I went to sleep.
I woke up around 4am feeling extraordinarily warm and my head was spinning. I stuck the thermometer in my mouth again (I put the thermometer under my pillow with my handphone haha) and it read a whopping 38.8. (used my handphone light to read the thing haha)
Tried to go back to sleep but couldn't. A while later the alarm rang and I nudged the sister and told her about the temperature of my body. Told my mum I didn't want to go to school because I was seriously feeling like I was going to die. Plus I think my parents spread their cough+sore throat post haji syndrome to me, so my throat was feeling super funky as well.
Really every inch of my body ached and i was in some serious pain. I had to pray Subuh at an incredibly slow pace because my head was spinning and it became worse during Rukuk and sujud and when I got up again. Low blood pressure or something.
Popped Panadol Extra and went back to bed. Temperature check again: 39.2 deg. I was actually perspiring in the 18 deg aircon room. What's wrong with me?!
I woke up at 10am and took temperature again..37.2 Okay lah not so bad. I contemplated on going to school since I had 3 lectures today. But decided not to.
So that was how the day went for me.
I can't stop listening to James Morrison!
---
So anyway today I'll blog about whatever's left of Munich. One day we visited the German Museum. It was this huge place with everything German. Planes, space shuttles, ships submarines..super cool.

Checkout the most romantic and sweetest couple ever!

And here are some left over photos which I forgot about.

And Castle photos.

Haha! Funny right funny right? You must look at everyone individually then you will start to laugh spontaneously! Ok fine maybe its just me haha.
Well since we spent the festive season in Munich, we had a few festive dinners.
On Christmas we had dinner at a restaurant in downtown Munich, Augustiner am Dom. The restaurant was famous for their Gluhwein. Prof Wohland wasn't with us because he went back to Frankfurt to spend Christmas with his family.

My group decided to wear the same colour for the dinner. The colour code was red or its derivatives. That explains JieAn doing somesort of a strip act, lifting his sweater to expose the red top. Haha.

Checkout our food. I had the vegetarian meal, of course. The non veg one looked extremely delicious. It was duck and a rice ball. Mine was like a german popiah, garnished with plants.
I was asking our bus driver what the meat was. He can't really speak english so I had to do it in German.
He said "Ente"
I didn't know what Ente was because we didn't learn it in German class, duh.
Then I said "Was ist Ente?" expecting him to explain it in German.
Then he said "Quack quack!"
Then we all went "Ohhhhhh"
Haha!

Not wanting to waste a single drip of red wine, Prof Lear puts his chemist skills of pouring liquids to work. They brought back the entire bottle. Haha.

Tsk tsk..Danny was flirting with the waitress. She's pretty hot, don't you think? She's from Kosovo. Married and Muslim. Shah had a little chat with her.

It was a la carte so it was a stuff your face dinner.

Us with the best bus driver in the world!!
Hostel party in the next entry!

Are you repressed? I'm not!
After all the unpleasant, annoying emails that made me more pissed than ever has reached my inbox, I've decided that from today onwards, emails with "[ ]" in front of it will go to junk, until people learn to grow up, not misuse technology and practice what they preach. It doesn't benefit me, it just shows me the ugly side of mankind. And I can't stand self righteous people. Its become such an unpleasant place to be in, really.
So finally! An email which brings me joyyy~

WHOOPEEE! Episode 14 of Prison Break Season 2 is finally out!!!!!! -jumps around-
In other news, I'm listening to James Morrison's album, 'Undiscovered'.
It rocks, I tell you!
Dah I'm going to find some people to repress. Bye!

The Royal Issue!

As you can see, I've donned my black down jacket. Other times I'm just holding it in my arms because my blubber and my denim/adidas jacket can keep me warm enough. But THAT DAY in Füssen it was freezing cold and I could feel the chill as soon as we got off the bus.
So i decided it was NO time to act hero and put on my jacket.
Really really cold! The only way to stay somewhat warm was to play with snow! Mwahaha.

See? After playing with snow, the black jacket disappears again. Haha.
Then it was time to move to the first castle, Schloss Hohenschwangau. The walk up wasn't that long, we were up in about 10 minutes?

Still on the way up..

At some courtyard-ish place which overlooked the town below.

Beng Hwa(fellow druggie) me, Dazril and Shah

Prof Lear and wife again!

Mr Danny-Schokolade and me.
We weren't allowed to take photos in the castle, so there're no photos of that, duh.
We walked around abit before heading back down to town and up another (LONG) way to Schloss Neuschwanstein.

On the way down.. you can see Neuschwanstein in the background. Its really high up, so the walk up was nothing less than a bitch, with horse manure. (You can choose to take the horse carriage up and step princess/prince/king/queen/jester) I think the walk was around 30mins?
Well long story short, we (FINALLY!) reached the entrance of Neuschwanstein.

Neuschwanstein had a breathtaking view ah.

Well no cameras in the castle as well. So we left for the suspension bridge that overlooked Neuschwanstein. THAT was another @#%^$%#@ WALK I swear to you.

FINALLY reached the bridge, after 40mins of walking up steep terrain. Lucky it was cold so the weather was nice.

Rong-Kuchen-Lun :: Me :: Dan-Schokolade-ny. Funny dudes la.

And my fave picture of all!

Don't ask.
Well the next royale place we visited was in Munich, just before we went shopping.

Its right smack in downtown Munich.

Oh and as you can see as well, Shah and I exchanged jackets. Haha.

And it was an audio tour..so we had to hold that thingy against our ears and press the numbers on the boards in the rooms we were in.

Don't give me that look! Dazril took this photo lor.

Shah and her naked baby. Those two have a thing for nudity i think.

Mmhmm.

Me fully in the lamppost role. I think i ROCK at it. Mwahaha.
Ohh and this is my fave room in the Residence. The ceiling was painted in such a way that when you view it from the middle of the room, it gives the illusion that the room has a high ceiling. See?

But really, its just painted.

Well then we escaped early to go shopping! Haha! We had enough of museums and palaces and whatnots! Haha!
Christmas party at hostel and hostel review coming up!

Video watch!
Been keeping myself sane by watching videos on YouTube! My second husband, Chris Daughtry has released his first single after his exit from the last season of American Idol. I've loved him since his audition!
He is damn hot. Cannot take it. I mean, LOOK at him man! I've always had an affinity for bald guys. Heh. And the nicely shaved janggut and the voice oohhhhhh!! And he's muscular by JUST the right amount..AAAH!
I wanna marry Chris Daughtry ah. Aiya so sad la he's married. Tsk.
I've come to the conclusion that the guys I wanna marry are either (potentially) gay (wentworth miller) or married (Chris Daughtry).
boo.
Anyway. Did you know that I actually LOVE MCFLY!?!?!?!
Sticking to my acoustic/live performances are better than recorded ones, here's a vid of McFly's latest single, "Star Girl". I've always loved these kinda bands because of their improvisation when they play live.
I've always had an affinity for Danny, the one playing the black guitar. His voice is love. Plus he's adorable too.
And you know..me and guitarists.. Heh. Can't resist them. Especially when they can sing as well.
Watch the vid, you'll enjoy it. They're really talented la. The singing starts around 00:38.
---
"I read the email and thought to myself, "DAMN I should have done it before she did."
Certain issues and people really piss me off.
Plus the sense of belonging is not there anymore. Or was it even there in the first place?
It sucks when you realise that the people who appeared to be 'taking care of welfare' actually digs up stuff from you to be kept in the know. You know, just wanna be kaypoh and know everyone's business. Hypocrite sia."

Dachau
My parents are safely back home, Alhamdulillah, just with the usual cough and sore throat..---
Anyway! Today I'll blog about our trip to Dachau (say dakkhau), one of the concentration camps during the Holocaust.
Okay so the whole Dachau experience was for me, just sad and disturbing, to a small extent. It was just sad to know that there are such cruel people around and it was disturbing that the prisoners had to execute each other.

Well at least we had a cute guide. ♥

Doesn't this place look like Fox Rivers?! I was doing my whole Prison Break obsession to annoy Dazril and Shah. Mwahaha.

Most of the interior is still original.

Prisoners had to surrender everything upon admission to Dachau.
They were forced to write letters to home, saying that they're having the time of their lives in Dachau, that Dachau rocks and that they're doing fine. Padahal..

Work cards.

They had to count aloud in German. Those who can't count in German..well they had their fate sealed, i guess. Plus our guide was telling us that prisoners would teach other prisoners who couldn't speak the language how to count in German.
Prisoners were tight ah.

Cells.

Poor living conditions, if you ask me. Its like NS gone horridly wrong. Those are triple deckered beds.

Hehe.

I forgot what this symbolised.

This is just plain sick.
Prisoners who were subjected to medical tests were submerged in cold water, till their body temperature dropped to as low as 26 deg. Time for them to die was recorded, so that they know how long their fighter pilots could survive in the cold ocean before help arrives should they crash during the war.
Some were subjected to very low pressures. Sick la really.
Well thats just the beginning of the sick part.
Hitler was an elitist, if you ask me. He believed in the superiority of the Aryan race and that other races were inferior, and had to be "disinfected." Disinfected here means that the prisoners were being gassed to death.

They were led to disinfecting chambers, where they were asked to strip.

Then they were told that they were going to take a bath.

Brausebad means shower.

But really, they were going to be gassed. The Brausebad was complete with fake showers and all. Today, the term Brausebad is no longer used. Instead "shower" now is "Dusche" which was adapted from a french word I think. This is simply because Brausebad just reminds people of the Holocaust.
So anyway after the prisoners were gassed, their bodies were carried into the next room, where they were cremated.

The crematorium was built by the prisoners, and operated by them. How sick is that. Seriously.
This is the old crematorium.

Very eerie.

Well said.

DAH no more senget horizon!
These 2 photos should have been in the Basel edition but I forgot all about them. Heh.Wait first let me explain the route.

So anyway we were from Basel and we were headed for Munich, thats München on the map.
The bus drove to St Gallen (!!) then up to Constance, and AROUND lake constance, or bodensee to Bregenz, Austria! I just found the whole crossing borders thing a fascinating experience. As in, you cross over to another country just to exit it to get to yet another country, know what i mean? Haha ok aku giler.
We stopped over in Bregenz for dinner, walked around a bit, nothing much to see..pretty much a typical European city.
I didn't take much photos because we were all so incredibly hungry.

But that's Bregenz for you. Haha okay now to the best part of the entire trip!

We kinda walked around town on CHRISTMAS EVE, which was like, the stupidest thing to do ever, because all the shops were closed. I'm at Marienplatz, the shopping paradise and I CAN'T BUY ANYTHING!! HOW SAD IS THAT!!!! We could only look at the displays and fantasize what it'd be like if we were wearing those clothes or shoes.

DEUTSCHLAND! I wished I'd hug the lion instead.
Plus the sky was getting funky.

Oh this is the glockenspiel which comes out and rotates and moves at 11am and 5pm.
Its a pity I didn't record the moment because I was going crazy at Zara (after Christmas when the shops were open). The Zara there has cosmetics!! COSMETICS!!! I bought glitter eyeliner for 3.90 Euros/S$7.90!! HOW cheap is that!
And we were rushing for time so I thought I'd buy a truckload of those eyeliners in Frankfurt on the way home, but the Frankfurt Zara didn't have cosmetics. DANGZ.
Anyway back to the depressing day.

Haha! Remember Basel hostel! But these babes are fun ah. Doesn't Terina(to the right of me) look adorable? haha. Anyway Jiesi(Extreme left) is totally working on her honours project. I thought she was year 2 man.
We have Forever 21.

They have Forever 18.
Then we visited...

Oh sorry. I meant

I can't resist smart guys, you see. He was our guide and he took us around his playground..The chem department. He's working on his Ph.D. Does that scream hotness or what!

Ok sorry.
So anyway, I absolutely love their LTs! Since its the Chemistry department all their LTs are decorated Chem-ishly. Really cool, we all loved it. I thought ETH Zurich was da bomb, but move aside, ETH!
They have a mini lab at the front of the LT, so what you learn, you see for real. Is that COOLIOS or what! And they have three black boards, so once the prof is done with one he can raise it for all to see and continue writing on the bottom ones.

I swear I was taking a picture of the rising blackboard. I love it.
And check out the wall decorations!

And my personal favourite..

Look they even have the orbital energy level thingos. Damn cool.

We couldn't stop comparing the chairs to LT26 chairs. Same cinema-ish type, only MUCH(x infinity) better, newer and less (creakier and disgusting.)

They name their LTs after famous chemists. I took this photo specially for Alfian because he LOVES mispronouncing Buchner.
Haha okay I'll finish up with Dachau, castle-snow paradise that Neuschwanstein is and the hostel review.
Bis dann!

EURIP Part 4!

Our hostel in Basel had a fantastic view. My group was always the first to go down for breakfast. We'd wake up at 630am everyday without fail and be down for breakfast by 730.
For what I also don't know.
So after breakfast we went to walk about around the hostel.. Really nice. There were people jogging and cycling.. And it was extraordinarily cold.

Oh and I had my very first cheese fondue! We dined at some Balinese restaurant where the owner was Balinese and spoke Indonesian with me. The waiter was from Jakarta or something and we conversed pretty comfortably in Indonesian. He was telling me he was Muslim as well and I told him not to put alcohol in the cheese fondue. Well I tried speaking Indonesian la..but I ended up speaking Malay anyhoos.

Well the highlight of Basel was probably visiting the Swiss Pharmaceutical Museum. And of course buying cheap budget chocolate at Migros. I love the budget Migros chocolate!
We left hostel and went downtown. Visited the Rathaus which was pretty near a Migros.

Oh and there was this huge wish book at the entrance of the Rathaus.

I scribbled "I wish for more money and snow, lots of love from Singapore" in german and we left for the..

Was pretty interesting la, looking at how alchemists in the olden days did their thingos.
They had lots of preserved stuff. Reptiles, human parts etc. Gross ah some.

The curator of the museum gave quite a detailed tour. Pretty interesting la, overall.

But you know. We'd play around. Heh. Well Dazril started this thing of imitating the artefacts.

Fail.

Ok pass.

Fail.

Eww. But okay lah. And at that moment, the curator walks up the stairs (reflection in the mirror) and starts laughing. TAK embarassing man.
And the natural:

He loves taking these kinda photos.

Haha!
And then on the bus we go to the Paul Scherrer Institute. They were the ones who started the whole Swiss Light Source thing.
Quite interesting also. We watched some 3D movie but it was in German. As soon as the lights went off and we wore our 3D glasses, some of us fell asleep just like that. Haha. I watched the movie ok.

Oh and our bus was like the best bus ever lah.

It had a gps system. Damn cool. And it would give directions auf Deutsch. And its very specific. "(In German obviously) In the next 300m, turn right." or "drive for 200m and enter the freeway." Super cool.

Okay so the most memorable thing about Basel was probably our hostel. It reminded me of an army camp, not that I've ever been in one.
But check it out. This is the hallway to our rooms.

The rooms. NO plug!! So I couldn't iron my tudung. So Shah and I just exchanged tudungs. Our tudungs and clothes which reeked of the Cheese fondue from previous night. Eww. We did laundry the moment we checked into Munich hostel.

Don't be deceived by our smiles. We really were feeling like this.

Oooh and the toilets! I was lucky enough to get an All-Girls floor. Shah was on a mixed floor for those families.. So her toilet was mixed. It is a problem because the shower areas had NO DOORS.

Uh Huh. When you bathe the thing flaps. And we got our curtain STOLEN by Jiesi because the toilet on her side had no curtain.
Its freaky lah really. And in the morning, I'm like the only one in my room who bathes so its freaky. I got one of the babes to accompany me. And at night we'd wait on each other when we bathe.
Check out the old school taps too.

An experience la definitely. Haha.
Anyway, we were bound for Munich!!

I started a revolution, yo!
So I was at Clementi today with the sister to get stationery and stuff to organise my very messy study table. Now, those of you who frequent Clementi central would know that parking there can be a bitch. There were NO empty lots and we already waited for at least 10 minutes. The only empty lots were red season parking lots. Something like this:

There were at least 4-5 empty red lots.
My sister said that the sign at the red lots said "Season parking from 7PM to 7AM everyday including Sundays and public holidays"
Sister: Eh just park there la! Its 430pm what..that means we can park there now!"
Me:Huh? If like that then why is NO ONE parking there? Why is everyone queueing at the white lots?!
Sister: Tsk! Because they didn't read the sign la duh! Just park there quick!!
So I did.
And seconds after I reversed into the lot, a few other cars started occupying the other empty red lots as well!
Sister: Wah kak! You started a revolution ah!
REVOLUTION!!!

words unsaid
Was driving home after fetching my sister today when I heard this song on Perfect 10. I think its lovely. You can find the video on youtube.I'm gonna remember you
You gonna remember me
I'm gonna remember you
You gonna remember me
I saw you wit your new girl just yesterday
And I feel that I must confess
Even though it kills me to have to say
I'll admit that I was impressed
Physically just short of perfection
Gotta commend you on your selection
Though I know I shouldn't be concerned
In the back of my mind
I can't help but question..
Does she rub your feet
(When you've had a long day?)
And Scratch your scalp
(When you take out your braids?)
Does she know that you
(Like to play PS2 'till 6 in the mornin' like I do?)
I can't explain this feelin'
I think about it everyday
And even though we've moved on
It gets so hard to walk away
Walk Away
(Forever you will live in my memory)
Walk Away
I can't forget how we used to be
Guess I gotta live my life from day to day
Hoping maybe you'll come back
And though I tell myself not to be afraid
To move on but it seems I can't
Though a new man has given me attention
It ain't the same as your affection
Though I know I should be content
In the back of my mind
I can't help but question...
Does he kiss me on the forehead
(Before we play?)
Show up on my doorstep
(with a bouquet?)
Does he call in the middle of the day
(just to say)
Baby I Love You
(Like you use to)
The things we did,
the way we shared our fantasies
Just you and me
My friend, My love, My family
How did we lose a love that seemed meant to be?
Sometimes I kiss her
And wish that it was you I'm kissing
Sometimes I miss him
And wish that it was you i'm missing
Sometimes I hug her
And wish that it was you I was huggin'
And I realize how much i'm buggin'
(I MISS YOU)
so hard to express this feeling
cause nobody compares to you
and you know she'll never love you like i do

Part 3 (alot of photos.. will suck up bandwidth)

Spent our first day in Zurich just walking around town.
The next day my group decided to split from the rest of the group and we left Zurich for Luzern. Luzern/Lucerne is somewhere I've been wanting to go, but didn't have the chance to, so that was just perfect timing.
We left as a group and the bus dropped us off at the Bahnhofstrasse. We decided to catch the 1030am train and since we were there at 9-ish, we walked to Lake Zurich to feed the swans!
We brought along (extremely hard) bread from breakfast.
Lake Zurich in Winter is not as nice as in Summer.

Then we headed to the Hauptbahnhof to catch our train.

Luzern is pretty!

Of course we didn't miss the Lion of Luzern monument. It was built to remember when over 700 Swiss guards were killed during the French revolution while defending some palace. It was sad la, to say the least. That's why I think its ironic that when we take photo here, we smile. haha.

We got some brochure from the tourist info centre and decided to go up Mount Pilatus, because we were all getting frustrated that the weather wasn't cold enough for snow to start falling.
Took a bus from town to get to the foot of Mount Pilatus.

Then it was a 40min cable car ride up!

At the top of the mountain. Was pretty warm for a mountain peak too. It was only -1 Deg C.

We climbed up some stairs thing and met this guy at a hut up there. Guess what. He was from Singapore. Haha.
Then we decided to leave our mark on the hut!

We caught the last cable car down and by the time we reached Luzern town it was dark.

This was what--? 4pm?
The next day, we left for ETH Zurich! Ah..what a wonderful place. The Chemistry building was spanking new and just so aesthetically pleasing.
Had (free) lunch at their mensa.

Goofing around before we started the looooonnngggg research talks.
Our hostel in Zurich was very nice, but the location, however wasn't too cool because it was very far from downtown.

Unlike the Frankfurt and Heidelberg ones, this hostel didn't have attached toilets and the rooms were very small. We had a hard time trying to squeeze 4 opened luggages and all our barang-barangs.

But it was generally okay for a 2 nite stay. We cooked spaghetti at night.

And we were bound for Basel!

I love MATHS!!!!
Today was the first Math Lec and it was a BLAST (although I fell asleep like, for a while because it was revision)! I realise how much I actually miss doing maths!Well it was funny because after I did the Calculus module back in Year 1, I had expectations of this lecturer. You know, from China, horrible accent, bad english, can't understand so I end up studying the module by myself.
I mean, come on la, what do you expect, it IS a Math module after all. So those lecturers are aplenty. Plus this is a Multivariable Calculus module, so I was mentally prepared for a cannot make it lecturer.
So when the lecturer walked in, the girls behind me were already speculating if he was Chinese-chinese or Singaporean-Chinese, hoping for the latter, obviously.
The first thing the lecturer did was to flash his name and office address. Then he took the mic and cooly said,
"Good Morning everyone, as you can see from my name, I'm from Singapore."
The entire LT erupted with laughter.
Prof Tan is great. Exactly how I like my lecturers to be. Engaging, articulate, funny at times and speaks plain ol' Singaporean english without any fake accents like the Anat lecturer. Gross.

First day of school (for the young adults)
So today was the day I was partially dreading, partially looking forward to.Dreading because I know the work and stress will pile up on me. Especially since I'm doing 6 modules this semester. And my timetable kinda depicts suckyness.
So much so that I don't know which German tutorial slot to take. Further prolong my tuesdays, or give myself pointless wednesdays.

(blank slots denote tentative tutorial periods)
Yeah, its sucky like that.
Well I was looking forward to the new semester because I'm taking fun modules!
I'm doing Science of Music, and most importantly I'm doing 1 Math module! That's the only thing that truly makes me happy! I'm SO extremely enthusiastic about it that I have officially dug out my F.Math notes from JC!
The starting of the module is about matrices and vectors, cross, dot product, something that we've done in FM, so it'll be a good refresher I guess.
Chem mods are okay, I guess, Prof Lear is taking organic, and he's entertaining.
German starts next week. And I've been punctual in sending my sister to school.
Only downside is that I don't have any modules with Baba! What a void. Going to miss that babe.
---
All thoughts of school and non-school accumulated into stress and I re-watched Season 1 of Prison Break, again. And I think this is my fave Scofield scene. And yes I captured it all frame by frame. Takde kerja, katakan.

for 180204
Lily Allen is great. I didn't really like her first single, "Smile" but "LDN" and "Littlest Things" are just perfect songs. I especially like the music video for LDN, go check it out on youtube. Love songs with meaning.Anyway, I shall leave with the lyrics from Littlest Things.
Sometimes I find myself sittin' back and reminiscing
Especially when I have to watch other people kissin'
And I remember when you started callin' me your miss's
All the play fightin', all the flirtatious disses
I'd tell you sad stories about my childhood
I dont why I trusted you but I knew that I could
We'd spend the whole weekend lying in our own dirt
I was just so happy in your boxers and your t-shirt
Dreams, Dreams
Of when we had just started things
Dreams of you and me
It seems, It seems
That I can't shake those memories
I wonder if you have the same dreams too.
The littlest things that take me there
I know it sounds lame but its so true
I know its not right, but it seems unfair
That the things are reminding me of you
Sometimes I wish we could just pretend
Even if for only one weekend
So come on, Tell me
Is this the end?

EURIP 06: Heidelberg!

FINALLY reached the picturesque top!

These photos were taken on castle ground.

with Prof Wohland.
Then we went into this place which stored the largest beer keg in the world. Its HUGE, I swear.

Check out how high the stairs are. I can't remember how much beer it could hold..Prof Wohland was telling it to me in German or something.
Its so huge, it can't fit into the camera frame.

The castle courtyard with the morning mist. It was pretty scary when the bus was navigating its way downtown because we couldn't see anything due to the mist.

Lovesss the mist!

Turns out, we climbed the 315 steps for nothing because there was another way into the castle. By slope.

Heidelberg is the prettiest thing you'll ever see.

I love swans!

pretty right!?

Anyway, our Heidelberg hostel was like the best ever. The room was HUGE!

Prof Lear and his ultra adorable wife, Hilda!

And we were bound for Zurich!

2nd day of school (for the kids)
Yesterday was the first day of school for all school going kids. Now as some of you know, my parents are away on pilgrimage and won't be back till January 21st. That means I'm on driver duty and I have to send my sister to school every morning.
You see, my sister doesn't wake up easily, I do, but when there's no incentive for me to wake up, I'll shut off too. But yesterday, since it was the first day of school and all, my sister was up and running by 5.30 am, and when nenek called at 5.45, she was already bathing and by 6.15am we were sitting in front of the tv eating cereal, then we leisurely strolled out of the house at 6.30am.
For once, she didn't sleep in the car. We were singing along to tunes from the radio, while dancing once in a while. And we chatted as well.
My sister reached school by 6.50am.
I told her, "Wow! Lets see how long this ready by 6.15am thing will last!"
TODAY.
My grandmother called at 5.30am.
Nenek: dah bangun?
Me: dah.. (I meant, *I* woke up already)
Nenek: ok syukur alhamdulillah...
-puts down phone-
-nudges sister who at that time switches off the alarm clock and remained motionless-
Me: -sleepily-If you switch off the alarm clock and you go back to sleep, that means you're not going to wake up. -goes back to slumberland-
The next thing I hear is a loud,
"KAK!!!! 6.50!!!!"
har, engkau, terberak sekali.
Well done la. She ran to the toilet, bathed in what seemed like seconds (lucky both of us weren't able to pray) and got dressed. By 7am we were out of the house.
School bell was at 7.25am.
Traffic conditions after 6.45am is HELL.
Suddenly it was jammed EVERYWHERE. The road outside my house jammed. The road leading to PIE entrance was jammed. PIE was relatively ok but had to watch out for that camera at BKE exit. Thank God my parents bought a 2000cc car.
AND THEN *insert evil music*
STEVENS ROAD EXIT (where I was supposed to exit)
WAS THE WORST. The car pile up started at least 150m away from the freaking exit. And by then it was 7.15am. My bladder was throwing tantrums, I suspect because of the speed I was travelling at. My heart was racing, my head was pounding. I drummed my fingers impatiently on the steering wheel.
My sister was wide awake, formulating plans to dodge the prefects who would book the late-comers.
Sister: Okay kak! I have a plan. We just wait by the teacher's gate until assembly is over then I just run in towards the hall.. I'll blend in with everyone!
Me: -a scene from Prison break flashes through my mind, when Michael told everyone to bleach their blue prison uniform so they could blend in with the people from psych ward who wore white unif..*mind wanders to how hot michael scofield is..BACK TO REALITY* -nods to acknowledge sister's plan-
The freaking SJI traffic light sucks cause it stays green for like what? 2 milliseconds?
And then at the road after SJI some taxi in front of me decides to show attitude and be in the yellow box and refuse to give way to the freaking bus, and the bus driver was dangling out the window scolding the taxi driver and pointing to the yellow box on the ground.
Driver of SHC 1036C should go back and take basic theory again.
Then the freaking driver, instead if driving off decides to taunt the freaking HUGE bus by attempting to bang into the front door and travelling at the speed of a tuk-tuk.
LIKE WTH! MOVE ALREADY!!!!
And because of that the light at SCGS turned red.
BLOODY SHC 1036C.
When the light turned green, I switched to the right most lane and sped off.
It was 7.24am.
School bell in ONE minute.
"We can make it, we can make it," I told myself.
When we came around the bend to the junction turning into RGS, cars were lined up till at least 70.37m from the junction.
CRAP.
7.26am and I made the turn and sped off to the front gate.
"Quick see if there's prefects"
My sister looks out the window..
"Okay YES! NO prefects, ok just stop here, just stop here..Okay thanks bye.."
She raced to the gate and I don't know if the prefects got her or not. I sped off because I actually stopped in the middle of the road. Mwahhaha.
As a matter of fact, my father DOES own the road. (I'm going to make that sign and hang it on the car)
And that was how the second day of school went.
I hope nothing like this ever happens again.

SAtays @ Vivocity!
Yey we met up yesterday because Miss Chua Nur-Perth-Lydia is back! Check out Suff's face after he eats the pralines I brought along. He claims to be Mr-I'd-choose-chocolates-over-Pamela-Anderson and every praline he popped into his mouth, he'd make some orgasmic face.

Oh, if you're wondering, we ate at Vivocity's Banquet.
So anyway, check out Zat, all hot and muscular, not out from OCS yet and all, haha kesian.

We were sitting around for a while until Jamie noticed that...

the dude behind us was wearing the same shirt as Zat!!! hahaha! (I don't know why exactly I blurred myself out, like maybe to make the comparison seem clearer? Or maybe I was fascinated by the gaussian blur filter in photoshop)
Then we wandered aimlessly on the rooftop

and Suff got us all into his crossword puzzle obsession.

So anyway, this was what happened. We solved most of it, and when most of the words are done, some words will just form by themselves. We couldn't figure out what a "Bric-a-Brac holder" was and the word that formed was "etagere".
Irwan was SO adamant that it was the wrong answer, because come on, etagere IS a weird sounding word, but we all argued that it couldn't be wrong because all the other words fitted perfectly.
So Irwan gave his ultimatum.
Irwan (to Suff): Okay check answer, cannot be la that its correct. If that etagere word is really correct ah, I will kiss you man. ANY part that you want.
(THATS how sure Irwan Iskandar was)
So we checked the answers and it WAS etagere. SO..Suff/us made Irwan kiss his..
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
FOOT!

Haha. Please, Suff was freaked out as well and didn't want to suggest anywhere incriminating.
Then while we fussed over more crosswords, these three went to step models.

Because I had to get dinner to my sister, all 9 of us squeezed into the Accord (amazing feat ok) and we lazed around at my place, eating ice cream and doing more crosswords.
The outing couldn't have been any more perfect :)
Love these guys to bits.
