Damn proud
This entry is taken from my last entry in FOD...
well as all of you would probably have known, yesterday was the long-awaited release of the PSLE results, where all the primary six, twelve year olds get their first taste of victory, triumph, joy or maybe even disappointment. My sister's one of those few. Results were out yesterday. I was nervous as well as excited for her. Even dreamt of her results. but of course I was dead wrong. Was at school jamming for Grad Nite. Should have been at my sister's school with my parents! =) They were announcing the top 15 students. My sister was 6th, with an aggregate of 264. Wow. When the principal called out her name, my dad stood up and cheered so loudly that everyone turned to look at him. The principal personally went to congrajulate my parents cos my sister was the top Singaporean AND Malay student in her school. The top 5 were from Malaysia and China. Wow. Imagine how proud i was. I was so frickin proud. damn proud of my sister. Syukur Alhamdullillah.
With 2As and 2A*s, she's in the special stream, with a government scholarship, to study in a local independent school AND skip the frickin O levels. that means its six years for her, leading to the A levels. FWAAHHHH. Blardy buggerdil. haha! So, it looks like she's going to RGS, with automatic admission to RJC, then do her A Levels. Aww man.
Alrights. Enough about my smarty pants sister. Haha. Dry Run for Grad Nite is on the second day of raya. That means I have to sacrifice my jalan, for Grad Nite. Argh. Less money. Again. Darnit. haha! HEY I'm in real need of cash ok! Still haven't figured out what to wear as a band for Grad Nite. They wanted to wear kilts, baju kurung, what else have you. Hmf. So far the best suggestion is to wear all black. hmmm. not too bad an idea. but all black would be boring.
The name, we've decided on Amy's Bedroom. WHY? First get any sleazy thought out of your head. We decided on it cos they jam in MY bedroom. Haha. Thats why. Ok. Can't afford to screw up anymore. The last jamming session in school @ LT3 was good! I think it was cos of Hirman. He plays the drums so loudly (and he does it perfectly excellent) that it clouds all of our little slipups. Raphael was super nervous, but once he got into the spirit of the whole thing, he was great. halim started croaking. Dunno how come! haha! damn cute la. Suddenly he stops everyone in mid song, "Sorry sorry! I just croaked..." haha.
So we'll be playing a total of 12 songs for grad nite (FWAH!) cos we'll be playing for entertainment as well. This wednesday's dry run, we'll be playing um... perfect - simple plan, jumper - third eye blind, closing time - semisonic, grow old with you - adam sandler, stacy's mom - Fountains of wayne. That's a whole lot of songs for dry run. We won't be playing all 12 for dry run. It would take ages. Someone wish me luck and pray for me that i won't screw up.
