Why Redang?
***** Pictures have been moved to webshots. Click on pics on the right yeah. The new one.Well first things first, for the uninformed, Redang island is off Terengganu. The first time I went to Redang Island, we drove. This time, instead of driving, we decided to make it a budget trip. Like super budget. We three families met at Larkin bus terminal and took a Transnasional bus to Terengganu that departed at 1030pm. (( I felt like I was on The Amazing Race ))
Because of my immense intelligence and high level IQ, I so forgot to bring my MP3 player.
BAHHHH. How was I going to survive the 8.5 hour bus ride?!
I had to make do with my sister's entertainment until I fell asleep. But because the bus ride was soooooo smooth, and the bus driver driving at the speed of light, I woke up at least 5 times. Plus the other kids couldn't sleep too.
So we arrived at Terengganu bus terminal at around 7am. That's not the end of the journey guys. It was an hour's drive to the jetty from the terminal (all arranged by the beach resort). AND an hour's boat ride from the jetty to the island. Count the hours. I was exhausted by the time we reached the island.
But behold! The sight that greeted me amazed everyone. Tell me where in Singapore can you get this:
And this is why I love Redang so. The first time I went there, we stayed at Berjaya Resort. This time, budget right, so choose a less pricey place lah.
Its been a while since us three families went on a beach vacation together. I think it was at least 5 years. Now everyone's grown up and smacked with school work and exams. Anyway, our parents were poly friends back in the days. That's how we (( the kids)) are acquainted.
So hanging out by the beach after dinner, till late in the night was great.
The whole trip, all we did was go deep sea snorkeling. The corals and marine life are really uncomparable to anywhere in the world. Snorkeling at Sibu island didn't even come close to Redang. That is why I love Redang too! Anyhows, I still managed to graze my knee against this really huge coral and cut my finger while feeding fishes. Arrr. Yeap, I'm peeling now too.
Marine life pics turned out really clear, its my scanner which sucks.
My dad's really skilled with the fishes.
yours truly.
The resort organised a snorkeling trip to different locations everyday. This is one of the snorkeling guides. We call him Abang Jack because he looks like Jack Sparrow, Johnny Depp's character in Pirates of the Carribean. His real name is, urh, I don't know. Really friendly guy who was with us the entire trip. He grew up next to the ocean, literally. Great swimmer too!
We went to the snorkeling shack to look for him late at night after dinner.
Thumbs up to the resort. Rawks.
Would love to go there again with the clique! How guys? ((our cruise to JAPAN also ah.. haha))
