Irwan Iskandar is on the way to becoming a man.
In JC, I met this boy whose name was Irwan Iskandar. We became really good friends, and he would always make me laugh. He told jokes that weren't funny that we would have to force ourselves to laugh because we pitied him.At times Irwan and I would meet to study together, in or out of college. We both listened to punk and we were in the same band. He's got to be the best lead guitarist around.
So anyway, of all my guy friends who's in NS, i can safely say that Irwan is the only one to have changed a whole lot. Seriously, other than losing weight (and his chubby cheeks) he's really matured la. In some ways.
A few days ago while cleaning my cupboard, I found some very old CDs that I burnt during JC. For jamming sessions and for my own listening purposes la. So I found this CD, and written on it was a song title that I found vaguely familiar. So I popped it into my computer and took a listen.
Immediately the song reminded me of Irwan! Because we would sit in the Caffe and incoherently yell out the lyrics! Well he would. Haha! Those were some mad days. And so happened that today, he was online, and he took the initiative to talk to me.
And he goes on to say that he's into Korean movies (just like Lydia, his pseudo-wife whos now in Australia) and that korean movies make him think about life.
WOW!
BABA! Is this the Irwan you know? Because the irwan I know is the one who sat behind you during Malay paper and farted continuously!
So anyway, the unimaginable happened!
We continued the chat and we ended up talking about serious stuff! He's just become so sensitive (in a good way) and very very reflective. Very different from the goofball that he was in JC!
I am truly amazed at what NS did to him, seriously. Because this is Irwan Iskandar, the guy who thinks his voice is that of buble's, and the one who had to be forced by us to pray (but now he prays religiously!), and the one who put the hockey goalie knee pads on his arms, and the one who was the baby of our clique because he was SO manja and Baba had to iron his prom shirt for him..
The first one on the way to becoming a man...and I would never have guessed that it'd be Irwan.
