Of debates and flies.

Was at the Malay debate at the Sultan Mosque on Saturday. The ultimate final showdown between RGS and SJI. The latter won. I shan't delve into the details because honestly, there are two ways of looking at it. I really thought RGS had better content. Way better content.

I thought the event was really fun, actually. Was there with Ba and Ain. And got to know this guy Harun who got into NUS Medicine. Man I was so envious. -looks at ain =D- Yeah, and the highly cute Dr Vivian Balakrishnan was there to grace the event as an apt Guest of Honour. I didn't know it was him until he was 3/4s through his speech. I suspected, but didn't want to believe my eyes. I've been a fan for quite sometime. He's Ain's new favourite minister.

Sunday was a two hours drive to my aunt's house in batu pahat where my eldest cousin got married. I swear the next time I go to Malaysia, it will be in a bikini. Okay, i was joking. Me, my sister and the rest of our cousins are probably the most useless bums you can ever find. During the akad nikah, we were sitting around the pelamin talking about God knows what and swatting flies. After that, we made my youngest uncle bring us food, and drinks.

THEN, because of the sweltering heat and the non-airconditioned house/bungalow/kampong, all 7 of us girls sat in one of the rooms and started to read books. My sister was studying Lit. I read some lousy Ghost story book. One by one, the heat proved too much for us to take and we started removing our tudungs.

After that like a domino effect, we fell asleep. And it was supposed to be a joyous occasion. How joyful. Seriously it was dammmmmm hot. I swear it was like a sauna. But with flies. Joy to the world when it started to pour, but then more flies entered the house.

Anyways, the kids are having their Mid Year Exams. That means stress for me too. Bahhh.
