who in the world fails basic theory?!

Okay, from this day onwards, i have come to the conclusion that school does not prepare you for any form of life challenges. WTH WTH WTH WTH WTH.

I am going to whine and rant.

I took my basic theory today and I failed it! Confirm! That's because you can only make 5 errors, but yours truly made 6! GAHHHHHHHHH. My mum already told me yesterday night that when she took her basic theory, her parents didn't drive, she didn't go to JC and her English sucked and she only took the damn test once. Looks like me, the darned JC student has to take it twice. OHH SHAME ON ME.

Bahhh.. i feel soooo utterly stupid now! I thought the signs questions would be a piece of cake so I neglected the signs part. I concentrated on the situations questions. DAMN. So all the situation questions like when to give way and whatnots I got correct! but the blardy signs I got wrongggg... All my mistakes were on signs and my parents told me the signs ones were commonsense!!!!

GAHHHHHHHHHH. I am truly filled with angst now.

Okay. I must mug for my basic theory already.

yah lah. the pics i just uploaded also. wanna see, go and see. man i feel like an ah lian. wah. at least they don fail their basic theory!

Mondays are the best!

Ahhhhh. Smell that?? It smells like a Monday..Glorious Mondays. The reason why they're exceptionally glorious is because I don't have to teach tuition on Mondays. I baked today. Ooh. I'm on my way to becoming Housewife of the Year, of course, after Ba does.

Alrightys. Taufik was over at my place again last Friday.. It was a big full-blown thing. My house was packed. Pictures are less thrilling than they were before. I still prefer the first time we had the gathering. Small, contained and very personal. I'll upload the pics of the second gathering soon.

Because Taufik was on the night shift that Friday, the gathering ended close to one am. After Taufik left, I felt as if it was a reincarnation of the "M" Clique! Me, my sister and my mum's friends children gathered in my room like we used to do in the past when we went on holiday together. Oh, with the temporary, yet stunningly new additions of Hadi, Fatin(zaiton) and my sister's friend, Arina (who was sleeping over). We crapped the whole night through, and it was fun to relive the good old days.

Speaking of sleepovers, I've never experienced one. Haha. So it was kinda fun to have Arina sleepover. Got to know her a little better... cos all i knew about her before was that she loves pink, oh yes, and Taufik too. ((haha!)) She's a very pleasant girl. Very nice and funny too! Yeapyeap. Thumbs up from me. See..it doesn't take much to get a thumbs up from me. As long as you're nice, I'll like you.

Alrightys. To wrap up this glorious Monday, I shall now have to get ready to meet Ong, Mel and Clariqi in Orchard for dinner. In the words of Mel herself, "Life holds more meaning for me once more.." Ohwell, she's just being dramatic.

Can someone please tell me whyyyy oh whyyy is tag-board not working?

oh SNAP. I'm going to be late.

I KNOW WHO!

If any of you remember, I blogged about how i bumped into this guy in Orchard Road telling me that he's a famous person in Singapore. ((its the second entry in the Dec 2004 archive))

Well, yesterday, I was reading through mrbrown's blog ((my absolutely favourite Singapore blog)) and I felt like I was hit hard by a wave of enlightenment. In one of mrbrown's entries, he was talking about Steven Lim, that desperado who stripped bare to his bright yellow trunks in the Singapore Idol auditions.

!!?!?!

WTF!

This guy, Steven Lim is a huge desperado, and in my opinion, he's an asshole. Go google his site. Type in Steven Lim or something. You'll definitely get on his site. If you guys are lazy, then just click here. Once you get there, scroll right down where you will see small streams of text. You won't be able to read it, but copy it into notepad. You'll be shocked at how desperate this guy is.

He included lines and lines of popular websearches so that whatever people type in google, they will eventually land on his site. Man, typing Singapore Idol is ok, but "Huang Na" and "Missing".. thats taking advantage of a bad situation to your own gain. How insensitive can this guy get.

Looking at his half naked photos and his plucked eyebrows and him self proclaiming that he's a hunk makes me sick. I'm glad at how I brushed him off when he approached me at Orchard Road the other day. The conversation still remains etched in my head, though. I still laugh at his statement.. "excuse me, I'm a very famous person in Singapore.."

HAHA. I'm evil, so what. At least I don't cash in on another person's demise.

Singapore Pride

-rubs hands in glee-
I've finally laid my hands on Taufik's Blessings.

((yes, yes I'm slow. My aunt collected it for me, so I had to wait for my parents to go over to her place to collect it))

Taufik being crowned Singapore Idol IS definately a blessing in itself. He's a winner whom you won't regret voting and spending your money on. Down-to-earth and ever so obliging, he's really a role model for all budding idols.. and all of us. Humility. However, behind the idol screen, under normal circumstances, I'd think he would make an excellent friend. Yes, in a platonic sense. He reminds me of Hody, actually.

Damn. Taufik's rendition of P.Ramlee's Ibu sounds better than the original.

Oooh. And my favourite track on Blessings would have to be Track 04 - Lets Stay Together. Woohoo. Because it reminds me of... =)

Today, I think marks a very significant day in Singapore history. The Tiger Cup is in our hands, baby! How I wished I was at the Kallang Stadium instead of screaming at my TV set. My sister was doing her homework ((BAHAHAHA. You poor kids are wallowing in homework)) and I was screaming nonchalantly at the TV set. I think I was the only one in the estate who was actually being enthusiastic about Singapore kicking Indo's butt.

Ooh and I am extremely proud of our Goalie, Lionel Lewis! I think he did an excellent job, saving some great shots. Really well deserved MVP!

Ohhh. Singapura Boleh!

TAUPOK

I'm still reading what people have to say about the taupok-ing incident at the "premier junior college in the Bishan-Ang Mo Kio area". Its even funnier than the letter by that boy's daddy! Singaporeans are really hilarious!

((I call this guy the saintified guy))
"Hmm. at least being Taupoked isnt tt bad. I came from some saintly school that believed in "Aruba" which involves some guy placed in a spread-eagled position and a rugby pole.. if you know what I mean."
((hmm.. no chinks for guessing which school this guy comes from))

((on some guy's blog))
"But I would have loved the gals to taupoked me instead."

Ohh man. You people are really funny. Good job guys.

Something's different

I wake up every morning at 6++ to do Subuh. As I enter the toilet to take ablution, sometimes I forget and I'm just about to strip (to bathe) ((ok, oversharing)) when I realised I don't have school. After Subuh, I go back to sleep and wake up in the likes of eleven-ish, twelve-ish (although my phone alarm is set at 9.45) Wishful thinking, Amylia. When I'm actually done bathing, I open my cupboard and take out my blue and white SAJC uniform. And I would slap myself in the head.

OH FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! Its already 13 days into the New Year and I'm not even accustomed to the fact that school has ended. The day of judgement will be in March. GOD! What's wrong with me.

And My phone has gone quiet. Haix. Most of you would know why. Even my sister gets more messages than me. ((HAHA!)) But he calls me every night still, though.

I'm still in stitches when I read the forum letter about the parent who's son is in a "premier junior college in the Bishan-Ang Mo Kio area" (in Tuesday's paper). Well, number one, if he's trying to be humble or hide the school's name, I think he failed miserably. Some may argue that "wa laooo. Anderson JC is somewhere there also whaaat..". Nice try my darlings. Anderson JC is in Yio Chu Kang. To see that the parent miserably failed in disguising the school by his premier description is proven in yesterday's paper with the blaring headlines "Raffles JC to warn students against 'Taupok'".

OH FOR CRYING OUT LOUD. The news team (let alone the public) didn't even have to crack their brains for even a split second to figure out what that premier JC was.

// The encounter

Alright. I shall address this issue in a very civil, mature (right ba and ain?) way. (haha) Singapore Idol, Taufik Batisah was at my place today, thanks to my uncle, his officer who brought him to my place during their lunch break. Wow. I'm still in denial, I can't believe he was at my place lah. He's a nice guy, and his version of Me and Mrs Jones sounds much much better when you hear him sing it live and unplugged. I've got a video of it and I'll try to upload it.

Pics are up here. Click on "The encounter"

At first, we were all disappointed when my uncle said that Taufik didn't report to work this morning. So me and my sister mass messaged everyone telling them that its cancelled. However, we received another call later from my uncle that Taufik woke up late! ((reminds me of Irwan)) and they were on their way. So, we mass messaged everyone again! Hehe.

Wow. You could really see the difference between my sister's friends, the RGS kiddos and me, ain and baba. The kids were really nuts! (hehe, no offence kids) Like seriously! They were squabbling over taufik's cup in the kitchen, and didn't allow my mum to wash it. and I heard they each took a sip, finishing up his drink. ((yikes)). Oh, and I have learnt today that Taufik's not a big fan of vegetables. So my grandmother made popiah (chinese style with the veggies all) and Taufik tried one, but didn't finish it cause of the veggie. Now you can all guess what the kids did next. ((yea they finished it up))

My goodness. That brings obsession to another level.

Baba and Ain, on the other hand, giggled alot and simply refused to enter my house. Plus baba covered her face and mouth and face again with his poster. Haha. ((hey, we're shy girls okay)) Really funny.

Taufik was really mobbed. Taking pictures, signing EVERYTHING from bags, to books to paper, answering phonecalls. Wow. Thats the life of an idol. When his trailer for "I Dream" played on TV (coincidentally) we all screamed, and he looked up and said "EEE! Siaper tu?? Orang giler!" ((translated that means "EEE! Who's that? Crazy fella!")) Haha.

Oh yes. Being the Idol doesn't mean you can't act cute also! haha! Taufik is sooo act cute! Haha. Look at what he said during the phone calls:
Convo 1: hello police! yes, how can i help you. how, your neighbourhood okay not?
Convo 2: hey who's tht? tika? tika what, tika sembahyang? ((bahahaha))
Convo 3: taufik? who's taufik? aiya i dunno who lah. this is david yeo LAH. i am an ah beng LAH. ((wth))

All in all, today was great! I still can't believe it though.

// The Sims 2

Yah lah, yah lah. You all must be saying, "Wah Amylia so suaku man. Now then start playing Sims 2.." Well number 1, I dont have the luxury to afford such games. And number 2, I had to be a hard core mugger ok. (whether its gonna pay off or not, that's a different story)

Oh Oh. But First, I would like to announce to the world that, MY ROOM FINALLY HAS LIGHT! I call it the light revolution. Fooh. It really feels like some form of liberation from the darkness or something.

Ok, so anyways, back to The Sims 2. The original The Sims was a decent version, where to have a baby, you just have to make the people kiss till they die and poof! a baby appears. But for The Sims 2, I was really surprised to find actions like "Make Out", "Smooch" and other thought provoking words..hmmm. And I thought this was a decent game. Oh Oh. And you can make the people fight too. Wowowow. This time, to have a baby, there's a function called "WooHoo". Haha. Wth. Guess for yourselves what that means. And according to my sister, the lady has to give birth too. Wow.

In Dick Lee's words, "If I had a hat, I'd take it off to.." the producers of The Sims 2.

And one last thing before all of you cry PIRACY! The one I'm playing is NOT pirated. One of my sister's extremely kind friend lent it to me.

//blogging in the dark

I'm sure you've heard the song Crawling in the dark, but you've never heard of Blogging in the dark, right? My room light-cum-fan konked out on me. So this means I have no light + no wind when I use the computer. No, in the day, its okay, but at night.. Hmm.

I think my house is falling apart. The electricity keeps tripping. And now, my light konks out on me. Oh and my previous mouse went crazy. So I'm now using a cordless mouse! Woohoo! The wonder of using a cordless mouse. (Its male btw)

Bahh. I feel like a modern day cave woman.

// Taking a good cause to your advantage.

Still on the issue of probably the worst natural disaster to ever hit planet earth in years, I am amused. I read today's Straits Times and it seems that Singaporeans are taking the call for donations of kind to their advantage. So insensitive! Hmm. Not surprising, considering its Singaporeans we're talking about here. Want to donate, donate properly lah!

Among the donated items were heeled shoes and an expensive coat. Well, great idea! Lets give these people some branded luxury items to wear since they're hit and probably sad. WELL HELLO!? Its time for a reality check! Other head-scratching, keyboard banging items were used bras, evening bags (the kind you bring to prom nite) and plastic handcuffs. PLASTIC HANDCUFFS?! tsk tsk tsk. You sick people. What were Singaporeans thinking when they donated the evening bags? (Or the handcuffs?) My goodness. I think the plea for usable, practical items turned the Singapore Red Cross and all its collection points a Karang Guni warehouse. Haha! I am really amused.

I am still trying to establish some form of contact to the British embassy to check if the couple seated beside me on my flight from Istanbul are safe. They told me they were en route to Phuket. Oh dear. I hope they're safe. No joke. I'd reckon at least half the British tourists aboard flight TK60 from Istanbul to Bangkok were on their way to sunny Phuket. The couple were going to stay there for 2 weeks til 5th Jan. Bahhh.

Next week's gonna be something new. No school, instead, there's work. Well, on the brighter side, at least there's money coming in at the end of the month. I'm still looking for more students. If you know anyone interested in having tuition, tell me alright. I'll give you commission. No joke.

Alright. I'm off to watch the news. Ciao people.
