Arab Classes and the like.

My parents have been talking about learning the Arab language and stuff, so it will be possibile for them to have some communication with the people when they go for Haj again, God-willing. So after asking around, my parents settled for the lesson at Masjid Tentera -- yes, the same place NUSMS is having their Arab class.

So today was the first lesson and as with every other language class, you will have to start by learning to ask what's a person's name and how to answer that age old question. My mum said the teacher was pretty quiet and just wrote stuff and explained, nothing out of the ordinary...until this supervisor guy barged in and told them that copying is NOT the way to learn a language and yada yada. Stuff that they told us in German class and they keep emphasizing that we have to practice speaking it.

So this bubbly supervisor guy went around asking the guys to ask each other. "whats your name" and "my name is so and so" You know, try to create scenarios. So after he was done with the guys, he moved on to the ladies. Full house for guys but 5 ladies. 4 were nus students. heh.

If you don't know my mum, she's the type who always sits infront in class. So the guy went on to asking my mum.

guy: "whats your name?" -in arab la-
My mum: huh? dont wannttttt!!!!! -violent fashion-

Haha! WTH then the whole class erupted in laughter. OH MANNNNN.
