A Summer afternoon in Schwarzsee

A walk through the neighbourhood.

My clever sister who borrowed the library book requested that I return the book for her today, because its due and because I end early. I was ultimately lazy to take the bus to Bukit Batok Central from KR Terminal, although it IS a straight bus plus the whole adult-fare-non-45cents busride is a pain. However, I was pretty glad I did go to Westmall on a school day, after school.

Well because what I saw was what I used to do in those Crescent days. Kids from many schools just hanging out, without having to worry about axial and equatorial positions in organic compounds or the Conformational Mobility of Cyclohexane.

There were the Bukit Batok kids -- those from schools around Bukit Batok who walk as if they own the whole world just because they're carrying the A Math textbook. Groups of girls carrying the same bag, wear the same hairpin at exactly the same angle at the same spot on their heads, you know.

There were kids from non-Bukit Batok area -- thats me, mostly Crescentians. Hey! Whatever happened to the rule of not going out after school because the DM will be at random malls waiting to catch you? It was nice seeing the Crescent uniform again. Gawd, I realise how toot I must have looked because those kids were unbelievably toot.

There were JC kids -- not me. I didn't hang out at Westmall when I was in SA. No time because I was a nerdy-perdy. Go home study. Mostly from PJC and I realise that they changed their PE Tshirt! Okay sorry if its old news, but I think Dri-fit PE tshirts are really cool! Plus the PJ ones are nice too.

Then I went into G2000 and saw this georgeous long sleeve blouse for $19! They're having a final reduction sale, so go visit. And then I bumped into Faizola, okay well not bumped into, cos I don't think he saw me. I was leaving and he was browsing through the Men's section, well, duh (good deals there too).

So it was back to the bus interchange, more kids in uniform. Usual la, rowdy boys, girls crowding around God-knows-what and this RGS girl doing homework. Really-- I'm NOT kidding! (generally)They seriously do homework/study EVERYWHERE. The other time I was in the train beside this sec1 RGS girl and she had her worksheets on her lap, pencil case in one hand, pen in the other, calculator sandwiched between her thighs. Either that or they'll be reading notes and mouthing to themselves.

And just now at the interchange, this RGS girl, who was in RJC, I presume, because of her badge, (duh) occupied the whole stool with her books, file, notes, markers etc. And she was violently highlighting some notes and referring to books, etc. Haha! I found it pretty amusing though. Was she going to study there the whole day or something?

I digress.

So as I was saying, I was pretty glad I made the trip because it reminded me of how I was 5-odd years back.

Bahh. I miss wearing uniforms.
