In Bio Lect now!

After Physical Chem lect I left for lunch with Ain and Nat to YIH, so when we alighted Shuttle C, the MOST heart-wrenching sight greeted us:

NAT: -points- WASTED!
me:WASTED!
ain:WASTEDDDDDD!

We could so totally form an orchestra. (that's Old Chang Kee's soft squid, for the uninformed)

Oh in lect just now, we were discussing how Syaban looks chinese and so do I but I look less chinese cos I wear tudung and how those aunties scold me when they speak to me in mandarin and I can't answer them.. so, while I was taking ablution at YIH, and was in the process of pinning my tudung, this Auntie enters the toilet..

"wahh ah moyy ah, cantikk cantikk.."

Uhh for a while I was stunned, so I just laughed.

Anyway, it was Ain's turn to menyebok today cos we both wore the same top that we bought together at Topshop, woohoo!

So anyway, these are the laugh-worthy things for today:

-after 1131 lec-
Alfian: Bye Natasha...

-over lunch-
ain: -day dreams- Oh *bd*ll*h...
-short pause-
ain: what an ugly watch...

-on naming her children-
ain: I'm going to name my kids Ducatti and Aprillia, you know right?
nat and I: -uninterested-
ain: So it'll be Ayeshah Aprillia Bte Sy*d *bd*ll*h
me: or bte -name withheld-
ain: -gives killer stare- and Ishmael Ducatti Bin Danial..
nat andI: -wondering who's danial-
ain: Danial Ph**!

HAHAHHA!!

Shah: Amy you know I was supposed to transfer $20, but you know it was my first time transferring money to another account..
-shows me the receipt-
Printed on the receipt was $0.20
At that point of time I was already in convulsions.
Shah: So dazril said "dah lah, go transfer the remaining $19.80..." which I am going to do now..

Ah today is funfunfun!

Just checking in!

I'm at the usual S4 place trying to finish up my German revision.

A little more to go and I'm going home woohoo!

Anyway, I received this in my email yesterday, just thought I'd share it!

Try looking at it from afar, the two faces switch places! (if it doesn't switch, means you're not far enough, so get off the chair and take ten steps back)No kidding man! Ultra cool, I know!

Haha okay back to Deutsch!

Wow! I am, like, the smartest.

Well you see I wanted to make a cup of tea.

So I got the teabag, boiled water and all. So I saw this container..

Yup, its never been there before, so I thought my mum finally put the sugar somewhere accessible, cos usually the sugar is high up in the cabinet hiding behind boxes of tea and whatnots.

See the red capped bottle behind the yellow? THATS where the sugar ALWAYS is.

So okay, I happily put 2 teaspoons of 'sugar' into my tea, Lipton rocks.

But WOW, when I drank it, it tasted like the vile-estestest liquid you can everrrrrr find on the planet, I swear. It was SOOO HORRIBLE I'd be better off drinking asparagus juice or the like.

So I went back to that friggin container of 'sugar' and tasted it. It was salty. -makes amy face-WTH! The crystals look the same ah! AND WHY would there be TWO containers of salt anyway?! (the flowery-pot-ish thing behind the 'sugar' contains salt)

WOW. TOTALLY LAH AMY!

The lack of updates.

Argh, haven't had time to update my blog, been busy with so many things and the term break hasn't been much of a help really. The study room is so messy, which makes it totally not condusive to study. I'm not kidding. Check out my table:

You think that's bad? Check out my sister's.

I'm still behind time. Have yet to finish the CM 1161 assignment so it pretty much sucks.

Oh well, this weekend was fun because the parents decided to leave on a three day vacation to KL so the house pretty much was ruled by moi. Which was cool.

Its been a long, long time since I actually went out with my sister so we went out for dinner yesterday. It was crazy la. Okay for starters, my sister refuses to pay for anything when she goes out with me.

Her: Kak lets get this.
Me: Ah okay la
Her: Okay I hold your things, you go and pay. Go!

Okay nevermind, she's not working yet so its alright. But the worse part was that she kept dragging me into shop after shop and I was so tempted to buy so many things.

Read: I buy= she borrows and 'forgets' it belongs to me= she keeps it in the end. Thats why all my stuff keeps disappearing from my side appearing at hers.

So finally after walking all around Westmall invading Gift shops, trying on weird shoes at Bata, making fun of things at Popular and making weird noises at the DVD shop(lucky I didn't bump into anyone I know) she dragged me into This Fashion (don't laugh lah). Remember my roxy-top-speaking-to-me incident? It happened again! This really gorgeous skirt was calling out for me! And since MY wonderful sister also thought it was beautiful, she didn't bother knocking ANY sense into me like she did the last time.

And wow, after we got home, SHE wrote this note.

Thanks man. Haha! so much for just going out for 'dinner'.

School starts tomorrow! yay?

In school!

Man, i can't believe im stuck in school with these two lah.

Both say the short form of pounds (lbs) as "ibs" as in they really pronounce it like that.

Dazril wants to name his child raffy, after "raffinate". We're totally doing too much chem.

Another online meeting later at 8pm so I guess i'll hang around these two then. yey.

Sheesh they can't stop laughing at my wonderful malay.

I think Ahmad and Syaban at the next table are binget.

And you know what. The epitome of menyebok is....

This is me in pink and white.

This is Shah also in pink and white.

Dreams

Romeo: I dreamt a dream tonight
Mercutio: And so did I.
Romeo: Well what was yours?
Mercutio: That dreamers often lie.
Romeo: In bed asleep while they do dream things true.
.
.
.
Romeo: Peace, peace, Mercutio, peace. Thou talk'st of nothing.
Mercutio: True, I talk of dreams,
Which are the children of an idle brain,
Begot of nothing but vain fantasy,
Which is as thin of substance as the air,
And more inconstant that the wind who woos
Even now the frozen bosom of the north,
And being angered puffs away from thence
Turning his side to the dew-dropping south.
- r&j act 1 scene 4.

Mercutio might be right you know?

He was so disgusted by the claw that he used the leaf to transfer it to another plate.

No gold taps, but got granite sinks at central lib.

You know I was reading the fee-hike response forum on IVLE a few days back and its cool to see so many people expressing their views, some balanced, some, well, just frustrated. Well I share their frustrations la. You know why?

Well because we don't really know where our money goes to, right?

Think about it la, for a science undergraduate like me, per year my parents have to pay $6100++. Thats a freaking $508++ per month you know! And that includes our semester break in may-june-july where we DON'T go to school. Wow, that's daylight robbery lah! I mean its not like we use SO MUCH electricity/water, right? I think the department offices use more electricity than us undergrads! And is wireless technology THAT expensive?

Lets say maybe $350 of the $508 goes to the salary of our profs (Provost Tan said 70% what), and TAs. Multiply that by say, 400 students doing chemistry. That's $140 000, balls! Then how about the other $150?

And wow, 2 hikes in 2 years, but LT26 is still as crummy with decomposing seats, LT21 is stuck in the elizabethan era (note the balcony-ish thinger, but its cool la), and Science library is still shitty. So when exactly are the crummy LTs AND the science library getting a facelift? Plus the doors to the Student lounge have been spoilt since God-knows when. Isn't anyone going to fix it?
Plus what's up with upgrading "resources" to increase quality of teaching anyway? The equipment they use in lectures are all pretty normal what.

Well at least NUS isn't using the money to do something ridiculous like adopt a highway in the United States or something. Eh wait, I speak too soon.

So where exactly does our money go to again?!

-

Well I haven't been updating for quite some time. Been really caught up in work. But let these pictures walk you through this week.

Tutorial on Monday:

We played with stick molecules. But the pesky orange ball dropped off while I was playing with it. So mayhem la. Shah and I searched high and low for it, kecohhhh giler, only to find it in my bag.

Cam-whore+CM1161 boredom yesterday:

Steppppp jiwang! Lt 21 is cool because there's like a balcony-ish place at the top.

Meet Dazril and his evil twin.

Alfian who proclaims he's taufik batisah/ aaron aziz lookalike.

After these people took over my phone, it died. So I was phone-less/camera-less for the rest of the day.

I had a meeting at YIH at 6, and lab ended around 4, so those two guys offered to keep me company till then. How noble, right?

Baba came a while later, and Shah and Ain, and we just merepek-ed till around 6? Man, its so rare that we have time to entertain each other, so yesterday was definitely a luxury.

Gah. Okay back to work!

So tireddddd.

Man, I had the worst sleep of my life EVERRRRRRRR last night.

Well I woke up at some unearthly hour to killer cramps that I swear I thought my life was being sucked out of me. i.e I was going to die lah.

Kept flipping in bed to attain the best position to lessen the cramps, but it didnt work. So I had to go to the other room to get my panadol extra and water from the tap. Well I think it kinda made the cramps worse.

For 2 hours I was deprived of sleep and I had a test at 10. Greaaat.

Bah.

Well my day became better because I had lunch with Baba. And then I was back in dead mode.

Gotto study for chem now. Test tomorrow at 830!

Wish me luck.

I miss my SAtays.

Double Lab!

I love Thursdays! Because there's not one, but TWO lab sessions! Had my first ever bio lab everrrr, and it was so fun!

Well first things first, the life science lab is so comfortable to work in!

Check out the huge plasma screens!

Its really nice and air-conditioned! Compared to the stuffy Chem labs:

And we get to work with cool microscopes!

AANNDDDDD, play around with CSI-ish equipment.

Haha, well okay la, its just a pair of forceps and some microscope slides. And a hydrilla plant. bah.

Well chem lab rocks too! Because we did distillation, which in secondary school we only learnt about it, but never got too see the real thing. Its uber cool, I swear.

Plus we have state-of-the-art equipment too, here as my trusty-fumehood-neighbour-who-helped-clean-my-flooded-fumehood, Alfian is pointing out. I don't really know what this does, but I think its something to do with electrolysis. Alfian thinks its a high tech thermometer.

Well for both labs, we have to don the white lab coat. Ah, we have such pretty labcoats.

Pity those in Bio lab who have to loan the uhh, slightly unglamorous transcluscent ones from the lab. teehee.

-------

At chem lab while preparing for filtration:
Alfian: (frustrated) Nah lah Amy, help me fold! (the filter paper) (poor guy ruined 2 pieces already. haha)
Me: Tsk! (takes filter paper and folds)
Alfian: Aiya, you girls should be good at origami what. I'm not good at origami, but I'm good at polygamy.

Bio Lect.

Wait, WHAT LECT.

seriously, we're ALL seated comfortably at the back of LT27 and understandably its to kecoh to learn anything. I was reading some stranger's blog, shah was chatting to God knows who, ain was yankee doodle and nat entah buat aper.

No seriously, checkout the mess on the floor. Its Shah's stuff. She's so untidy la! (haha ya blame her hehe)

I was so bored I started:

1) Taking a photo of shah's laptop and mine. (hers is the mak laptop, mine is the anak)

2) Using Farah's penknife-eraser to scare Shah because for some reason she thought it was a penknife. HELLO, do I look like a psychotic killer to you?!

3) Sending voice clips over MSN to shah.

Oh Bio Lect. How luxurious you are.

Headstrong

You see, a few weeks ago, my sister was singing her own made up song to the tune of some song's intro. The thing is, we make up silly songs about anything and everything. So in this case the lyrics were "kopek telur" because of some 'kopek telur' email I received. Kopek telur literally means, peel egg. I know, random right.

So for weeks we were trying to determine what that song was. And we only know the intro.

We couldn't eat, and couldn't sleep for days, weeks, months. Okay that's a lie. I've been having 11-hour sleep times.

Suddenly today, a beam of light shone upon us, and my sister realised the words in the chorus could possibly be something along the lines of "headstrong, lalalala.." and voila! YESSSSSAAAHHHH. That's totally the song!

Haha okay la, this post is really random and quite useless. But I just wanted to share my happiness with the world! That the song is Headstrong by Trapt! WOOHOO!

Okay bye.

The things that make me smile.

1) note how aizat's scarf around his waist comes undone the MOMENT he steps on stage, and how he passed it to Baba

2) note how the same scarf kept getting stuck at Baba's sanggul

3) note the stabbing action the guys did with the umbrella at the back.

4) note how Baba's the only one who could dance. decently.

My dance partner, Irwan Iskandar is featured in the next video.

This was at Halim's house during Raya04(or was it 03?)

Finally, we have Suff.

Ah, what great memories.
